Without a vaccination plan, basic income and oxygen, Amazonas fights for life!

The public calamity in which Manaus finds itself is proof that the Covid-19 pandemic is far from over. We need to remain mobilized in great solidarity network to deal urgently with the omissions of Amazonas and Federal Governments.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, several initiatives have been created by social movements, collectives, educational institutions and civil society forums to support peripheral communities, indigenous peoples, quilombola communities, people living with HIV, groups of mothers, LGBT people, workers, sex workers  and several people who are in situation of great vulnerability in this moment of crisis.

We are joining forces to keep fighting for life and pressing Governments to fulfill their roles!

Our focus at this time is to meet the needs of emergency food, hygiene / cleaning products and equipment in health and personal protection.

SOCIAL MOVEMENTS JOIN TO LAUNCH “AMAZON FOR LIFE”

Led by collectives from Manaus, the campaign focuses on fundraising to help people in vulnerable situations

In the struggle for the vaccination plan, without basic income for the population and without oxygen in Amazonas, Amazon for Life appears. A campaign developed by social movements, collectives, universities and civil society forums, seeking to collect donations for the purchase of basic and health items for groups of vulnerable people in Manaus.

The initiative’s concern is mainly to meet basic needs, supporting peripheral communities, indigenous peoples, quilombola communities, people living with HIV, groups of mothers, LGBT people, sex workers and other groups that suffer since the beginning of the pandemic and much more now with the worsening health crisis in the state.
